The Ford Torino, known in some circles as the Italian Detroit coupe or the upgraded Fairlane coupe.
This 1969 factory S code, 390 V8 fastback (aka sports roof) is an extremely good example of the marque.
This Kansas Built GT is fitted with the correct date stamped “improved performance” 390 V8 engine #8E21. Mated to the numbers matching C6 3-speed automatic #C6AP-7006-AP driving the 9inch diff. Holley single 4 barrel carburettor with mechanical secondaries and a Flow Master style exhaust system. A high performance Pertonix electronic ignition system has been installed also.
The Torino was offered from factory with a complete suspension and performance upgrade over the production fairlane coupe or the more standard 4 doors.
The interior presents in very good condition, nice clear functioning gauges, no rips or tears and still retaining a great deal of its original trim. A column mounted tachometer and extra oil, temp gauges have been fitted as an extra above factory.
